Welcome to the 2010 season

There are several changes anticipated for the umpiring this season in Newton.

We are arranging for multi-night clinics for Level 1 and Level 2 umpires. These will start within the next few weeks as soon as the facility arrangements are in place. These clinics will be taught by BCBUA approved instructors and BCBUA membership will be included in the cost. (Level 1 - $25.00, Level 2 - $50.00). We will be establishing a mentorship program to support developing and novice umpires on the field.

Game fees are under review at all levels. Payment this year will be by cheque issued monthly.

Umpire assignments at ALL levels will be done centrally by a single assigner – this year, by the UIC.

BCBUA membership will be required of all umpires.

We are currently looking for umpires at ALL age and experience levels (MINIMUM AGE IS FIRST YEAR PEEWEE).
